Meatloaf


We suddenly had a craving for meatloaf and my mother and aunt sent me to a couple of Swedish recipe sites. I ended up making a hybrid, mixing 1.3 pounds of ground beef, a shredded onion, a shredded apple (I'd go with just half an apple next time), 1/2 dl of breadcrumbs soaked in 1 dl of milk, and an egg. Mix it all together (use your hands unless you have long nails), form a loaf, and brush the surface with a mixture of an egg yolk and some soy sauce. Bake in the oven at 175 C / 350 F for about an hour until the inside temperature reaches 160 F
